Ganesha is the child of Shiva, the Hindu 'god of destruction', and his wife Parvati, and is the god of fertility, knowledge and commerce, who is said to remove difficulties and obstacles and bring good fortune.
Ganesha's birthday is on the fourth day of the new moon, according to the Indian lunar calendar. This year (2024) it will be 7 September.
The 'Birthday Celebration of Lord Ganesha' was held at the Indian factory in front of the Ganesha statue. Prayers were offered to Lord Ganesha, 'flower decorations, sweets' were offered and sweets were distributed to all employees so that everyone could celebrate together. It rains a lot during the 'monsoon' season, and it rains every day, but the weather was good on this day and we were grateful that we were able to celebrate with Japanese and Indian staff.
