When the machined products such as Shafts, Valves, Pistons or Rollers that require external diameter grinding, the grinding operations could be difficult when there are no clearance grooves on each end faces as the upper picture, which increases grinding costs significantly or it is not feasible to control grinding length.
Adding the clearance grooves as the bottom picture, it reduces grinding costs as well as management costs.
